Filly and mare sprinters will get this year’s Breeders’ Cup Friday card started while endurance runners will open the Breeders’ Cup card on Saturday when the world championships returns to Santa Anita Park on October 24-25.
According to the Breeders’ Cup website, the Sentient Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint will be the first Breeders’ Cup race offered on Championship Friday. The race is scheduled as the third on the card with a 3:35 EDT post time.
Following the Filly and Mare Sprint will be the Grey Goose Juvenile Fillies Turf at 4:15 p.m., the Bessemer Trust Juvenile Fillies (G1) at 4:55, the Emirates Airline Filly and Mare Turf at 5:35, and the Ladies Classic (G1) at 6:15.
On Saturday, the Breeders’ Cup races will start with the first race on the card, which will be the Breeders’ Cup Marathon set for 1:10 p.m. EDT. The second race will be the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint at 1:50, followed by the TVG Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile at 2:30 p.m.
Post time for the next Breeders’ Cup race, the Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1), is set for 3:15 p.m. Next will be the Bessemer Trust Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1), at 3:55, followed by the Grey Goose Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf at 4:35, the Sentient Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) at 5:15, the Emirates Airline Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1) at 6:00, and the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) at 6:45.
After posting the race order on its website, the Breeders’ Cup said on October 3 that the race order is subject to change until October 15.
