Fabulous Strike, one of the top sprinters in the nation last year, is set to make his first start of 2008 on Saturday in the $75,000 Vincent A. Moscarelli Memorial Stakes at Delaware Park.

The Smart Strike gelding has not raced since a 5 3/4-length victory in the Vosburgh Stakes (G1) on September 30 at Belmont Park. He developed a lung infection that forced him out of the TVG Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) and eventually turned into pneumonia. He was treated at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center.

Fabulous Strike will go up against six rivals, including multiple stakes winner Five Steps, in the six-furlong Vincent A. Moscarelli.
