Red Rocks staying in U.S. with Hennig

Owner J. Paul Reddam will leave Red Rocks (Ire) in the United States with trainer Mark Hennig after the 2006 John Deere Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1) winner defeated Curlin in the Man o’ War Stakes (G1) on July 12.

Red Rocks had been based in England with trainer Brian Meehan.

“Brian’s obviously got a lot invested in the horse; I want his input and he wants to give his input,” Hennig told Daily Racing Form.

Hennig, who also trains graded stakes winners Barcola and Notional for Reddam, said the five-year-old Galileo (Ire) horse would probably target the Sword Dancer Invitational Handicap (G1) on August 16 at Saratoga Race Course.
