Lane’s End reduces fees for A.P. Indy, Smart Strike

Lane’s End reduced the stud fees for 14 of the 19 stallions who stood at the Versailles, Kentucky, farm in 2009 and will offer a new discount incentive to breeders.

Among the stallions whose fees were reduced for 2010 are ‘06 leading general sire A.P. Indy and ‘07 and ’08 leading sire Smart Strike. A.P. Indy’s stud fee was reduced from $250,000 last year to $150,000, and Smart Strike’s fee was cut from $125,000 to $75,000.

“Today, we are announcing the 2010 stud fees for the 21 Lane’s End stallions,” Lane’s End owner Will Farish said. “All of our farm fees are on a live foal, payable when foal stands and nurses basis. We are also offering a 10% discount if the stud fee is paid in full prior to November 1, 2010.

“In an effort to increase market value for all of our clients, we will continue to closely monitor the size of our stallions’ books and will remain sensitive to this issue.”
