Galileo recovering from colic surgery
Coolmore’s successful young sire Galileo (Ire) underwent colic surgery on Thursday night at Fethard Equine Hospital in Ireland.
Coolmore General Manager Christy Grassick said the ten-year-old Sadler’s Wells stallion was recovering well on Friday morning.
“We are delighted with his progress overnight and his recovery has been uneventful,” Grassick said. “He is doing very well and we expect him to be returning back to Coolmore very shortly.”
Galileo has sired 15 Group 1 winners in four crops of racing age, including classic winners New Approach and Sixties Icon, European champion two-year-old colt Teofilo, John Deere Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1) winner Red Rocks (Ire), and multiple Group 1 winner Lush Lashes.
