Flash Traffic first winner for Garnered
Flash Traffic gained command at the start, opened a six-length lead in early stretch, and posted a 14-length victory in the ninth race on Thursday at Charles Town Races to become the first career winner for freshman sire Garnered.
Trained by Gary Capuano for owner Black Horse Tavern, Flash Traffic won the 6 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race in 1:19.57 on a track rated as fast. The two-year-old colt is the first winner from two starters out of the winning Tamayaz mare Please Follow Me.
Flash Traffic is the first starter from 22 foals of racing age for stakes winner Garnered, who stands for $2,500 at Naylee Farm in Summit Point, West Virginia. A ten-year-old Holy Bull horse out of the winning Afleet mare Cherie, Garnered is the sire of 33 foals.
Garnered won the 2003 Jaipur Handicap in his final career start for trainer Allen Jerkens and owner-breeder Joseph Shields Jr. The chestnut horse won five of eight starts and compiled $198,200 in purse earnings during a two-year racing career.
