Deputy Wild Cat relocating to Illinois


Irving Cowan’s Deputy Wild Cat is relocating for the 2009 breeding season to Fairberry Farm in Waterloo, Illinois.

A full brother to Grade 3-placed multiple stakes winner Ministers Wild Cat and half brother to 2000 Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) winner and sire War Chant and Grade 1-placed Group 2 winner Ivan Denisovich (Ire), Deputy Wild Cat will stand for $2,500.

The Deputy Minister horse out of 1993 champion three-year-old filly and multiple Grade 1 winner Hollywood Wildcat, by Kris S., previously stood at Rising Hill Farm in Ocala.

Nine-year-old Deputy Wild  Cat is the sire of 43 foals in two crops of racing age. His progeny have combined to earn 12 wins in 21 starts and compiled $612,778 in purse earnings through Monday.

Deputy Wild Cat is the sire of three stakes-placed winners, including Screen to Screen, the runner-up in the 2008 WinStar Derby at Sunland Park.
