Garter Belt first winner for Anasheed

Garter Belt became the first career winner for New York-based freshman sire Anasheed on Saturday with a front-running 1 1/2-length victory in the third race at Calder Race Course.

The Jacks Or Better Farm homebred filly out of the Tabasco Cat mare Sexy Stockings set the pace en route to a victory in the 4 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race for trainer Stanley Gold.

An eight-year-old A.P. Indy horse, Anasheed is out of Group 1 winner Flagbird, by Nureyev. He stands at Liberty Stud in Ghent, New York, for $5,000. He has 27 two-year-olds in his first crop.

A Darley Stable homebred, Anasheed finished second in the 2002 Arlington-Washington Futurity (G3). He earned two wins, two seconds, and two thirds in 15 career starts while earning $104,339.
