Boricua Bomber first winner for Tumblebrutus
Boricua Bomber earned a 9 1/4-length debut win in a maiden special weight race on May 10 at Hipodromo Camarero in Puerto Rico and became the first winner for freshman sire Trumblebrutus, a full brother to 2000 European Horse of the Year and sire Giant’s Causeway.
Trained by Manuel Perez for Sonata Stable, Boricua Bomber completed five furlongs in :59.39 on a track rated as fast.
Tumblebrutus, a Storm Cat horse out of multiple graded stakes winner Mariah’s Storm, stands at Haras Mocito Guapo in Santiago, Chile. The dark bay or brown horse entered stud in 2005 and previously stood for $6,000 at Walmac Farm in Lexington. He has 39 two-year-olds in his first crop.
Tumblebrutus, who is from the female family of 1975 champion two-year-old filly Dearly Precious, finished second in the 2003 Galileo EBF Futurity Stakes (Ire-G2) at the Curragh. Aidan O’Brien trained Turmblebrutus for Susan Magnier and Michael Tabor.
