Azeri, Point Ashley deliver fillies at Hill ‘n’ Dale

Azeri, the 2002 Horse of the Year, delivered a chestnut Giant’s Causeway filly on May 10 at Hill ‘n’ Dale Farm in Lexington.

The ten-year-old mare produced an A.P. Indy colt as her first foal in 2007. She will be bred back to Ghostzapper, the 2004 Horse of the Year.

Azeri finished fifth to Ghostzapper in the 2004 Breeders’ Cup Classic Powered by Dodge (G1) at Lone Star Park.

Grade 1 winner Point Ashley also gave birth on May 10 at Hill ‘n’ Dale, producing a Distorted Humor filly.

The bay filly is the first foal out of Point Ashley, a $1.8-million purchase by Hill ‘n’ Dale Equine Holdings Inc. and Southern Equine Stables in the 2007 Keeneland January horses of all ages sale.

Zayat Stables raced Point Ashley, who won the 2006 Del Mar Debutante Stakes (G1).
