Lady Eugenie first winner for freshman sire Roger That


Lady Eugenie launched her winning bid in upper stretch and edged away for a  1½-length triumph under Donnie Meche on Thursday at Louisiana Downs and became the first winner for freshman sire Roger That.

Lady Eugenie, who is trained by Al Stall Jr., covered the five-furlong maiden claiming race in 1:01.58 on a fast track. Bred by owner Al Stall Sr., she is out of the two-time stakes-winning Bayou Black mare Tighantuir.

Roger That, an eight-year-old out of the Grade 3-winning Irish Tower mare Unacceptable, stood the 2008 season for $1,000 at Elite Thoroughbreds in Folsom, Louisiana. He has three two-year-olds in his first crop.

Campaigned by B. Wayne Hughes and trained by Stall, Roger That won one of three career starts.
