Apache Maid becomes first winner for Tempered Appeal


Stakes winner and freshman stallion Tempered Appeal sired his first winner on Saturday when Apache Maid chased the leader and prevailed by a neck in the final strides in a $3,407 maiden special weight race at Evergreen Park.

Apache Maid, who is the first winner from as many starters out of winning Patchy Groundfog mare Patchy Valentine, set a track record of :41.80 in the 3 1/2-furlong race for owner-breeder Bar None Ranch and trainer Pete Dubois.

Tempered Appeal, an 11-year-old Valid Appeal horse out of the stakes winning Temperence Hill mare Temperalles, stands for $1,931 ($2,000 CAN) at Bar None Ranches in Dewinton, Alberta. He has 16 foals in his first crop.

Tempered Appeal recorded ten wins, including two stakes wins, from 51 career starts and amassed $583,891 in lifetime earnings.
